Welcome to the Drones Direct drone shop, home to more than 250 products for flying, filming and fieldwork. The range runs from compact camera drones and FPV quads to enterprise, agricultural, underwater and waterproof drones. Action cameras, protective cases, spares, portable power and education kits sit alongside them, and every item can be added to your cart and paid for through a secure checkout.

This guide helps you use the drone shop well. It explains how to filter the range, which category suits each kind of flying, which specs matter and what to add so your kit is ready from the first flight. If you want to buy drones online without second-guessing the details, read the sections that match your plans and follow the links.

How to find the right product in the drone shop

The fastest route through the drone shop is to narrow the grid before you scroll. The category menu groups the range into sections such as camera and FPV drones, enterprise drones, underwater drones, and accessories and spares. From there, a few filters and the sort options turn a long list into a short one.

  • Category: open a section, then a sub-category such as a single drone series.
  • Price range: set a lower and upper limit so you only see options that suit your budget.
  • In-stock items: show only the in-stock items in the section you are viewing.
  • On-sale items: show only products from the On Sale section.
  • Sorting: change the order of the grid so similar options are easier to compare.
  • Search: type a model name, such as Mini 3 Pro or M2 Pro, to go straight to it.

Pick a category first, then set a price range, then sort. That keeps the comparison fair when you buy drones online, because you only weigh products built for the same job.

Shop by category

Every major section of the drone shop is one click away. Use these links to go straight to the products you need, then apply the filters above.

Not sure which section fits? The next part of this guide matches common goals to the right corner of the drone shop.

Choosing a drone by what you want to do

With so many drones in the range, start with the job rather than the model name. Below are the main reasons people buy a drone, with products in this drone shop that suit each one. If you fit two headings, choose the drone for the main job and add accessories for the other.

Travel and content creation

Compact folding drones are the natural pick for trips, hikes and social content. The DJI Mini 3 Pro and DJI Mini 2 both weigh under 250 g and fold small enough for a daypack. The Mini 3 Pro can rotate its camera for true vertical shots, which suits phone-first platforms. The Autel EVO Nano is another light option, and the DJI Air 2S steps up to a 1-inch sensor in a still-portable body.

Several of these drones also come as Fly More Combos in the drone shop, so compare each combo listing with the standard kit to see what is included.

Cinematic and professional imaging

For property, events and serious photography, a larger sensor and higher-resolution video matter most. The DJI Mavic 3 Classic uses a Four Thirds Hasselblad camera, and the Mavic 3 Cine Premium Combo adds Apple ProRes recording for demanding colour grading. On the Autel side, the Autel EVO II Pro 6K V2 pairs a 1-inch sensor with 6K video, while the EVO II 8K V2 records 8K. Several EVO II models also come as Rugged Bundles, so compare those listings if you carry gear between locations.

For 360 aerial footage, look at the Antigravity A1 360 8K Drone Explorer Bundle, which lets you choose your framing after the flight.

FPV and freestyle flying

FPV drones are flown through goggles from the aircraft’s point of view, which feels closer to piloting than filming. The DJI FPV Combo is a sensible entry point because it brings DJI’s digital HD video system to a ready-built aircraft. For hobbyists who like to tune and tinker, iFlight quads such as the ProTek35 CineWhoop and TP X5 HD use Caddx digital HD camera systems. BNF models need a compatible radio, so check each listing first. DJI FPV goggles, controllers and batteries sit in the accessories part of the drone shop.

Inspection, mapping and public safety

Work drones are chosen for their sensors rather than their looks. Thermal cameras help with roof, solar and powerline checks and with search and rescue, while RTK positioning improves accuracy for mapping. The DJI Matrice 4T and Matrice 30T carry thermal imaging, and the Mavic 3 Enterprise range covers mapping, thermal and multispectral work. The Autel EVO II Dual 640T pairs thermal and visual cameras.

Farming and delivery

The DJI Agras T10 is an agricultural spray drone, and the Agras T10 Spreading System 3.0 lets it spread granular material such as seed or fertiliser. Spare flight batteries and the battery station help keep it working through a long day. The DJI FlyCart 30 handles delivery, and its winch system kit lets cargo be lowered on a cable without landing. Both are work aircraft, so read the business and safety sections before you order.

Fishing and filming on water

Waterproof drones can take off from and land on water, which matters around boats, jetties and rivers. The SwellPro SplashDrone 4 and SplashDrone 4 PLUS are all-rounders for filming and payload drops. The SwellPro Fisherman MAX Advanced is built for drone fishing, carrying a bait line out past casting range. The SwellPro Spry+ is a smaller waterproof option, and the GANNET Pro and Rippton SharkX round out the waterproof drones in this drone shop.

Underwater exploration

Underwater drones, or ROVs, stay connected to the surface by a tether and send live video back as they dive. The CHASING M2 Pro Max and M2 Pro suit inspection and serious exploration, with add-on tools such as a grabber claw and laser scaler. The CHASING Gladius Mini S and Dory are more compact choices for recreational use. The CHASING F1 fish finder drone completes the underwater line-up, helping anglers see what is below the surface.

Classrooms and coding

Education drones are small, programmable and designed for groups. The DJI Tello EDU Classroom Packs are built around Tello EDU drones, which students can program with Scratch or Python. The CoDrone EDU is another programmable platform, also offered as a classroom set. Add the Portable Drone Cage to give students a contained space to fly indoors. Classroom packs are ordered through the same cart as everything else in the drone shop.

Drone specs explained before you buy

Spec sheets are easier to read once you know which lines matter. Compare models within one drone shop category, and check the manufacturer’s published figures for exact numbers. Full specifications for DJI models are on the DJI website.

  • Sensor size and resolution: a larger sensor, such as 1-inch or Four Thirds, usually copes better with low light and high-contrast scenes. Resolution matters most if you crop footage or deliver high-resolution video.
  • Gimbal and stabilisation: a three-axis gimbal keeps footage steady in breezy conditions. If you post to social platforms, check whether the camera can rotate for vertical shots.
  • Transmission system: this carries the live view and your control inputs. Compare the stated range and how the link copes with interference, and only consider range extenders made for your controller.
  • Obstacle sensing: note how many directions the drone can sense and whether it can steer around obstacles or only stop. Wider coverage helps new pilots and tight locations.
  • Weight and portability: folding arms and a light airframe make a drone easier to carry, so think about where you will really fly before choosing size.
  • Wind and water resistance: check the manufacturer’s wind rating and any IP rating. Keep spray and rain for waterproof or weather-sealed models such as the SwellPro range.
  • Batteries and flight time: published flight times are measured in ideal conditions. Expect less in wind, cold or with accessories fitted, and plan for spare batteries.

When two drones in the drone shop look similar on paper, the camera or the size usually decides it. Choose the camera that matches how you share footage, and a size you will happily carry.

Building a complete kit around your drone

A drone on its own will fly, but a few extras make every outing smoother. The Accessories & Spares section of the drone shop holds most of them, and this list shows where to start.

  • Spare batteries and charging: extra packs such as the Autel EVO II Intelligent Battery and a matching charging hub keep you flying through a full session.
  • Fly More kits: the DJI Mini 3 Pro Fly More Kit is designed to extend a Mini 3 Pro you already own, so check the listing for its contents.
  • ND filters: sets like the Autel EVO II Pro ND Filters cut incoming light, helping you keep a cinematic shutter speed in bright sun.
  • Cases: Nanuk drone cases are fitted to specific models, while GPC and 4Hawks hard cases cover a range of DJI drones.
  • Landing gear: the EXOLANDER for Autel EVO II adds ground clearance on rough surfaces.
  • Range extenders: Raptor XR and SR units are matched to specific DJI controllers.
  • Screens and controllers: a TriplTek 9 Pro Tablet or the DJI Smart Controller gives you a dedicated display in the field.
  • Portable power: EcoFlow power stations and the Jackery Explorer 500 recharge batteries away from mains power, with solar panels to match.

NEBO lighting, ISOtunes hearing protection and Barska binoculars round out a long field day. All of it sits in the drone shop with the aircraft, so one order can cover the whole trip.

Buying for a business or team

Commercial buyers usually start in Enterprise Drones and work back to the accessories. Many DJI enterprise listings come bundled with DJI’s Enterprise care plans, such as the Matrice 30T with Enterprise Care Plus, so compare the bundle names when you shortlist. The Mavic 3 Enterprise and Mavic 3 Thermal are listed with Basic Shield options as well.

Sensors and accuracy come next. The Mavic 3 Enterprise Series RTK Module adds centimetre-level positioning for mapping, and the Autel EVO II Pro RTK Rugged Bundle V2 brings RTK to the Autel platform. For thermal work, the Autel EVO II Dual 640T pairs thermal and visual cameras, while the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral suits crop and vegetation monitoring.

Fleet support matters as much as the aircraft. For the Matrice 30 series, TB30 Intelligent Batteries, the BS30 Battery Station and the DJI RC Plus are listed separately. For delivery work, the FlyCart 30 winch kit adds a payload option. All of these enterprise drones can be added to the cart like any other product. Teams can add spares, cases and portable power to one drone shop order, and the safety section below covers CASA’s extra requirements for business flying.

Underwater and waterproof drones compared

These two categories sound alike but solve different problems. An underwater drone, or ROV, dives below the surface on a tether and films what is down there. A waterproof drone flies above the water, can land on it, and can carry payloads such as bait or a lifebuoy. Choose by where you need the camera: above the surface or beneath it.

  • Choose an ROV for hull, mooring and jetty inspections, reef exploration and close-up filming of marine life.
  • Choose a waterproof drone for aerial filming over water, drone fishing and dropping a payload where it is needed.
  • Consider both if you run charters or marine survey work and want views from above and below the waterline.

Each type has its own add-ons in the drone shop. Waterproof drones use payload releases, such as the SplashDrone 4 PL1s Payload Release and the PL3 Fishing Camera Payload Release. CHASING ROVs take tools such as the Grabber Claw, Distance Lock Sonar and E-Reel, all listed in the CHASING M2 Series range. Model details are also on the CHASING website.

Before your first flight

A new drone is most enjoyable when the first flights are calm and legal. Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) sets standard operating conditions that every flyer should know, whichever drone you choose from the drone shop. The key points are:

  • Fly no higher than 120 metres above ground level.
  • Keep at least 30 metres away from other people.
  • Keep the drone within your visual line of sight at all times.
  • Fly only one drone at a time.
  • Don’t fly over or above people, or in populous areas such as beaches, parks and sporting events.
  • Stay away from emergency operations.
  • Respect personal privacy.

Read the full conditions on the CASA drone rules page before you fly. If you plan to fly for work or business, CASA has extra registration and accreditation requirements, so check those on the CASA site as well.

Practise in an open, quiet area well away from people. Start in the gentlest flight mode your drone offers, get comfortable with hovering and landing, and check the return-to-home settings before longer flights. FPV pilots benefit from time on a simulator before flying a real quad at speed.

Look after batteries too. Use a compatible charger, let packs cool before recharging, store them as the manufacturer recommends and check for swelling or damage before each flight.

Ordering from the drone shop

Once your shortlist is down to one, ordering takes a few steps. Add the drone and any accessories to your cart, then go to the secure checkout. Shipping is calculated at checkout from your delivery address, so you see the full cost before you pay, and your order is sent straight to you.

Creating an account lets you see your orders and save your addresses for faster checkout next time. Live chat on the site reaches the team with questions before or after buying, which helps when you buy drones online for the first time. The drone shop checkout works the same way for a single filter set or a full enterprise kit.

Drone shop FAQs

Which drone suits a beginner?

Most beginners do well with a compact camera drone such as the DJI Mini 2 or DJI Mini 3 Pro. Both are light, fold small and are easy to take anywhere. If immersive flying appeals more, the DJI FPV Combo is a ready-built way to start FPV. Either way, practise in open space before tackling tricky locations.

What should I add to my order?

Start with spare batteries and a charging hub, then a hard case, plus ND filters if you film in bright light. Pilots who work far from mains power often add a portable power station. The kit list above and the Accessories & Spares section of the drone shop cover the options for each drone family.

Can I buy drones online for work?

Yes. Enterprise, agricultural and delivery drones can be added to the cart and bought through the same secure checkout as any other product. If you will fly for work or business, CASA has extra registration and accreditation requirements, so check them on the CASA site before your first job.

How is shipping calculated?

Shipping is calculated at checkout from your delivery address, so the full cost is shown before you pay. Add everything to the cart first to see the total for the whole order.

How do I compare two drones in the drone shop?

Filter the drone shop by category first so you only compare drones built for the same job. Then check sensor size, video resolution, obstacle sensing, weight and wind resistance, using the manufacturer’s figures for exact numbers. If you are still torn, ask the team through live chat before you order.

What is in the On Sale section of the drone shop?

The On Sale section collects products currently marked on sale across the range. Open it, or use the on-sale filter inside any category, to see what is included right now.
