You can contact us through the form above, by email at sales@dronesdirect.com.au, or by live chat using the chat button on the site. Every message reaches the Drones Direct team, and for form and email enquiries we reply by email to the address you give us.
This guide covers common questions, from choosing a first drone to checking accessory fit, order questions and business enquiries. Read the section that matches your question before you contact us. You may find your answer here, and if you still need help, you’ll know exactly which details to send.
The best way to contact us for your question
There are three ways to contact us, and each suits a different kind of question. Choosing the right one means your message arrives with everything we need, so our first reply can be a real answer rather than a request for more details.
- The contact form on this page: the right choice for most questions. Add your name, email address and message, plus a phone number if you like (that field is optional), then select Send message.
- Email to sales@dronesdirect.com.au: use this when you want to attach photos, screenshots or documents, because the form doesn’t take file uploads.
- Live chat: use the chat button on the site for quick questions before or after you buy, such as where to find a category or a product.
If your question needs a longer explanation, such as comparing two drones for a specific job, the form or email works better than chat. You can lay out your plans in full, and our reply lands in your inbox for later reference. Whichever option you choose, try to contact us once with the full picture rather than sending several short messages.
What to include in your message
The more specific your message, the more useful our reply can be. Before you contact us, gather the details below. You won’t need all of them for every question, so choose the ones that match what you’re asking.
- The product name, or a link to its page on our site, so we know exactly which item and version you mean.
- The drone you already own, written the way its maker names it, for example DJI Mavic 2 Pro rather than just Mavic.
- What you want to do with it: holiday video, roof inspections, fishing from a boat, classroom coding or checking a boat hull.
- For order questions, your order number and the email address you used at checkout.
- Photos of the item, label or packaging if something isn’t right. Email these to sales@dronesdirect.com.au, since the form has no upload option.
A short example shows the difference. "Do you have batteries?" needs a follow-up question before we can help. "I fly a DJI Mavic Air 2 and want a spare battery, which one fits?" gives our team everything needed to answer in one reply. If you contact us about more than one product, list each on its own line so nothing gets missed.
Help choosing a drone before you buy
You’re welcome to contact us before you buy, and it’s one of the most useful times to ask. Our range covers more than 250 products, so a short steer can save a lot of browsing. Tell us what you want to film or do, where you’ll fly, and whether this will be your first drone.
Our main drone categories are a good place to start. Camera drones run from small folding minis to larger prosumer models with bigger sensors. FPV drones are flown through goggles for a first-person view. Underwater drones are remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) for exploring below the surface, while waterproof and fishing drones can take off from and land on water.
If you’re comparing two models, name both when you contact us and tell us what matters most, such as portability, camera quality or controller type. You might be weighing the DJI Mini 3 Pro against the DJI Mini 2, or a DJI model against an Autel EVO II. We’ll explain the trade-offs based on published specs and your plans.
Some background reading helps too. Our beginner’s guide to drones covers how drones work and the basic rules, and our guide to choosing a drone with camera explains sensors, resolution and gimbals in plain terms. If price is the main concern, start with our best budget drones guide.

Checking compatibility for batteries, cases and accessories
Accessory fit is a good reason to contact us, because small details matter. Many drone accessories are made for one model or one family, so a battery, filter set or case that suits one drone may not suit its close relative. Checking before you order saves you from buying the wrong part.
Our Accessories and Spares range includes batteries, charging hubs, ND filters, range extenders, controllers, landing gear and Fly More kits. Some names look alike. For example, there are separate ND filter sets for the Autel EVO II and the EVO II Pro, and two different Fly More kits for the DJI Mini 3 Pro. When you contact us about an accessory, tell us:
- Batteries: your drone’s full model name, since batteries are made for specific aircraft, such as the Mavic Air 2 Intelligent Flight Battery.
- Cases: the drone and kit you own, because fitted cases are cut to suit a particular drone.
- Controllers and screens: which controller came with your drone, as some models are sold in versions with different controllers.
- Range extenders: the drone and controller you use, since our Raptor extenders are listed for specific DJI models and controllers.
For hard cases, Nanuk drone cases are fitted to specific models, such as the Nanuk 925 case for the DJI Mavic 3. If you’d rather carry extra gear or organise the space yourself, the general-purpose cases in Protective Cases are another option. Contact us with your drone and what else you want to carry, and we’ll point you to cases that suit.

Orders, checkout and your account
Many order questions can be answered before you contact us. Every product can be added to the cart and bought through a secure checkout. Shipping is calculated at checkout from your delivery address, so you see the full cost before you pay. Your order is then sent straight to you.
Creating an account lets you see your orders and save your addresses, so you can check an order’s details and skip retyping your address next time. When you browse the full shop, you can filter by category, price range, in-stock items and on-sale items, then sort the results to narrow things down.
When you do need to contact us about an order, include your order number and the email address you used at checkout. Tell us what your question is about, such as the shipping address, the items in the order or a product you’ve received. If something isn’t right with an item, email photos to sales@dronesdirect.com.au with your order number, and our team will help.
For questions about payment, shipping or anything else to do with an order, contact us by form or email so the team can look at your order and reply with the details. Please don’t include card details or passwords in any message you send.
Business, enterprise, agriculture and delivery enquiries
If you’re buying for work, contact us with details of the job and we’ll help you look at suitable aircraft and accessories. Our enterprise drones include thermal, zoom and RTK aircraft for inspection, mapping, public safety and search and rescue. The range includes the DJI Matrice 30T and Matrice 4T, plus Mavic 3 Enterprise series aircraft such as the Mavic 3 Multispectral.
For farms, the DJI Agras T10 is an agricultural spray drone, and its spreading system, flight batteries and battery station are listed separately. For moving goods, the DJI FlyCart 30 is a delivery drone, with a winch system kit also in the range. These are specialised aircraft, so it pays to contact us before you order and explain how you’ll use them.
Planning to contact us for a quote or advice on a business order? These details help our team give you a useful answer.
- Your business name and the kind of work you do.
- The jobs the drones will do, such as asset inspections, mapping, spraying or deliveries.
- How many aircraft, spare batteries and charging stations you’re considering.
- Any drones, controllers or batteries you already own, so we can check what works together.
- Your delivery address, so we know where the order will be sent.
Flying for work also brings extra requirements from CASA, so read CASA’s drone rules before your first job. The flying rules section further down this page explains what to check.

Schools, clubs and education orders
Teachers, coding clubs and STEM programs are welcome to contact us about classroom drones. Our Education Drones category has the DJI Tello EDU Classroom Pack Set 1 and Set 2, built around small programmable drones made for coding lessons. The CoDrone EDU range includes the CoDrone EDU drone, a classroom set and a portable drone cage to keep flights contained.
When you contact us about a school or club order, tell us how many students will take part, their year level and whether they’ve done any coding before. Add the number of drones or sets you have in mind, your school or club name and the address the order should go to. If you need a quote for an approval process, say so in your message.
Check each product page for what’s included. If you’re unsure which pack or set suits your group size, send us the numbers and we’ll help you compare the options before you decide.

Underwater and fishing drone questions
Underwater drones raise their own questions, so contact us with details of the water you’ll explore. Tell us whether it’s the ocean, a lake, a dam or a pool, what you want to see, and whether you’ll launch from a boat, a jetty or the shore. These details help us suggest a suitable ROV and accessories.
Our Chasing M2 Series covers the M2, M2S, M2 Pro and M2 Pro Max, with tools such as a grabber claw, distance lock sonar, laser scaler and an LED diving video light. The range also includes the Chasing Dory, Gladius Mini, Gladius Mini S and the Chasing F1 Fish Finder Drone. If you’re not sure an accessory suits your model, contact us with the model name and we’ll check.
For fishing from above the water, the SwellPro SplashDrone 4 and the SwellPro Fisherman MAX models are waterproof drones, and payload releases are available for dropping bait. When you contact us about drone fishing, tell us your drone, the type of fishing you do and the payload release you’re considering. Fishing drones are aircraft, so CASA’s flying rules apply to them.

Flying rules and safety questions
You’re welcome to contact us with general questions about flying, but for the rules themselves, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) is the official source. Its drone rules page sets out the standard operating conditions for flying a drone in Australia. In summary, CASA’s standard rules say to:
- Fly no higher than 120 metres above ground level.
- Keep at least 30 metres away from other people.
- Keep your drone within visual line of sight.
- Fly only one drone at a time.
- Don’t fly over or above people, or in populous areas such as beaches, parks and sporting events.
- Stay away from emergency operations.
- Respect other people’s privacy.
For work or business flying, CASA has extra registration and accreditation requirements, so check them on the CASA site before you start. CASA’s rules are for aircraft, so for underwater ROVs, check the local rules for the waterway or marine park where you’ll launch. Our team can help you choose a drone and accessories that suit how and where you plan to fly.
Guides worth reading before you contact us
Our blog guides answer many common drone questions in detail. Reading the one that matches your question might save you a message, or help you ask a sharper one when you contact us. These are good places to start:

If a guide leaves you with a question about your own plans, contact us with a link to the guide and what you’d like to know. It gives our team useful context, so the reply can focus on your situation rather than the basics.
Contact us FAQs
How do I contact us about an order?
Use the form on this page or email sales@dronesdirect.com.au, and include your order number and the email address you used at checkout. Tell us what your question is about in a sentence or two. If you have an account, you can also see your orders there, which may answer simple questions about what you ordered.
Can I send photos or documents?
Yes. The contact form doesn’t have a file upload, so email your photos, screenshots or documents to sales@dronesdirect.com.au. Add a short note explaining what they show, plus your order number if your question is about an order. Clear photos of labels, model names or any damage help our team understand what you need.
Can you help me choose between two models?
Yes. Contact us with the names of both models, what you want to use the drone for and where you’ll fly it. We’ll explain the main differences based on published specs, such as the camera, size and controller, so you can decide which suits your plans. Links to both product pages help.
Do you supply schools, clubs and businesses?
Yes. Our range includes education drones such as the DJI Tello EDU classroom packs and CoDrone EDU, plus enterprise, agricultural and delivery drones. Contact us with your organisation’s name, what you need the drones for, the quantities you have in mind and the delivery address, and our team will help with your enquiry.
Is my information kept private?
Details you send through the contact form are used to reply to your enquiry. When you contact us, you only need to share what’s relevant to your question, such as your name, email address, the product and your order number. The phone number field is optional, so you can leave it blank if you prefer.
Can I ask about a product before I buy it?
Of course. Live chat through the chat button suits quick questions, while the form or email suits longer ones. Contact us with the product name or a link to its page, and tell us what you’d like to know, such as what it’s designed for or which accessories suit it.
What if I don’t know my drone’s exact model?
Start with the box, the controller or the drone’s app, as the model name often appears in one of those places. If you still can’t tell, email a few clear photos of the drone and its controller to sales@dronesdirect.com.au when you contact us, and our team will help you work it out.
Still need help?
If you haven’t found your answer here, the form at the top of this page is the simplest way to contact us. Add your name, email address and a clear message with the details from this guide, then select Send message. You can also email sales@dronesdirect.com.au or use live chat, and our team will help from there.
